2 women, 1 man injured in 3 separate shootings across Jacksonville

Two women and one man were wounded in three separate shootings across Jacksonville in a span of 5 hours on Saturday night.

Officers with the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office responded to the first shooting at around 7:15 p.m. on Doctor Roy Baker Street, about two blocks west of I-95 in the Hogan’s Creek area.

Police said a woman was sitting in a vehicle when someone walked up and fired multiple shots at her, hitting her seven times.

She was seriously hurt, but none of her injuries was considered life-threatening, police said.

Investigators believe the woman was targeted in an isolated incident.

The second shooting was reported just over two hours later at 9:32 p.m. at an apartment complex on Broward Road on the Northside.

Police said a man who was visiting a friend opened the door when someone knocked and was shot twice — once in the chest and once in the leg.

He was last listed in stable condition with non-life-threatening injuries.

Officers responded to the third shooting just before midnight on Soutel Drive, two blocks northeast of New Kings Road in Northwest Jacksonville.

They found a woman in her 20s with a gunshot wound to the leg, and she was taken to a hospital with injuries that were not life-threatening.

Investigators said they learned the shooting took place in the parking lot outside a nearby club.

Police did not have descriptions of any of the shooters.
