2 women, 1 man killed in motorcycle vs. car crash on Newberry Road, lanes reopen

Three people died in a crash on West Newberry Road on Monday morning.

Florida Highway Patrol troopers say Newberry Road (SR 26) has reopened after being blocked eastbound at Northwest 122nd Street and closed westbound at 98th Street.

Alachua County Fire Rescue officials confirm three people died in the crash which involved a motorcycle and a car.

Troopers say the car was entering Newberry Road from Northwest 109th Street when it was struck by a motorcycle. The impact caused the car to flip.

The two women in the car, a 59-year-old and a 90-year-old, both from Gainesville, were killed. The biker, a 31-year-old man from Archer, also died.

Troopers are investigating the crash.
