A 2-year-old was killed in Pasco County on Friday morning after being hit by a truck, the Florida Highway Patrol said.
According to an FHP release, the Dade City toddler was walking along Hilltop Farms Drive with his father when he darted into the roadway.
A Dodge Ram driven by a 20-year-old Dade City man then hit the boy.
The child was airlifted to a hospital where he died of his injuries, troopers said.
The pickup truck driver and his female passenger were not injured in the incident.
