A 2-year-old died Wednesday morning after he was run over by a car in a Manatee County driveway, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
The child was standing near an SUV in a driveway along Anchor Bay Trail and when he couldn’t open the door, he walked behind the car, according to troopers.
The driver didn’t see the child and put the car in reverse, hitting the child, troopers said. A 6-year-old child was also inside the car at the time.
The child died at the scene, troopers said.
No other information was immediately available.
