20-year-old Passenger killed, driver injured in Mobile County crash

A 20-year-old Lisman man is dead after a single-vehicle crash on Friday afternoon, according to the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency.

The incident occurred at approximately 3:20 p.m. on U.S. 45 near the 26-mile marker, about two miles south of Citronelle in Mobile County.

Troopers reported that the man was critically injured when the Camry he was a passenger in veered off the roadway and collided with a tree.

He was transported to the Mobile Infirmary in Saraland for medical treatment but was later pronounced dead at the hospital, according to the release.

The driver of the Camry, a 19-year-old Lisman man, sustained injuries and was taken to USA Health University Hospital in Mobile for treatment.

The Alabama Law Enforcement Agency’s Highway Patrol Division is investigating the crash.

No further details have been released.
