20-year-old pedestrian dies after being hit by two vehicles on Philips Highway

A 20-year-old man who was walking on a Jacksonville road was struck and killed early Saturday morning, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

FHP said a car and a box truck were heading south on Philips Highway around 2:30 a.m.

For an unknown reason, the man was walking in the southbound lanes near Bowdendale Avenue and was hit by both vehicles.

The Jacksonville man died at the scene.

The driver of the car had minor injuries.

FHP released no other details about the incident.
