A 22-year-old motorcyclist from Cocoa was killed in a crash Thursday night on a State Road 417 ramp in Orange County, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
Troopers say the crash happened just after 11 p.m. on the southbound State Road 417 ramp to eastbound State Road 528.
Investigators said the motorcyclist was traveling southbound on SR-417 while approaching the ramp. The rider failed to negotiate a left-hand curve, lost control, ran off the roadway to the right and hit a guardrail.
The rider was taken to the hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
The crash remains under investigation.
