A 25-year-old woman is dead and a deputy is injured after a fatal car crash in Collier County on I-75 early Saturday morning.

According to the Florida Highway Patrol, a deputy with the Collier County Sheriff’s Office was blocking traffic in response to a crash.

During the traffic block, a paint striping truck crashed into a Road Ranger truck and the truck hit the CCSO cruiser.

Troopers say approximately 100 gallons of paint was spilled onto Interstate 75 during the collision.

FHP says the Road Ranger driver and the deputy were both transported minor injuries.

The 25-year-old woman driving the paint striping truck was transported to the hospital where she was pronounced dead.
