27-year-old motorcyclist killed when driver makes illegal U-turn in Bayonet Point: Florida Highway Patrol 

 The Florida Highway Patrol said a 27-year-old Port Richey man was killed in a crash in Bayonet Point on Thursday.

It happened at around 4 p.m. near the intersection of US-19 and Beach Boulevard between a Nissan Altima and Yamaha motorcycle.

The Nissan Altima, driven by an 85-year-old Hudson woman, was traveling northbound on US-19, and the motorcycle was traveling southbound.

FHP said that, despite having a red light, the woman made a U-turn into the path of the motorcycle, causing a collision.

The man was taken to a nearby hospital, where he died of his injuries.
