29-year-old woman killed in crash on I-75 in Alachua County

One person is dead after a crash on Interstate 75 in Alachua County shut down northbound lanes for hours early Wednesday morning.

Florida Highway Patrol troopers say just after 2 a.m. a car headed north on I-75 north of Alachua abruptly cut in front of a semi-truck.

The right front of the semi struck the left side of the car. The 29-year-old woman from Jasper driving the car was killed.

The semi-truck driver was not hurt. The interstate has since completely reopened.
