Firefighters responded to a house fire that broke out in Pembroke Pines, containing the blaze to the kitchen area but unable to save three dogs inside, authorities said.
According to a statement from Pembroke Pines Fire Rescue, crews arrived to find smoke and flames coming from the home near Northwest 23rd Place.
Firefighters quickly extinguished the blaze, preventing it from spreading beyond the kitchen.
All residents were accounted for, and firefighters removed several dogs from the home. Despite resuscitation efforts, all three dogs died, officials said.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation. No injuries to residents or firefighters were reported.
