Three people were hospitalized early Tuesday morning after a car went off the side of an overpass, falling nearly 30 feet on I-95 North in St. Lucie County.
The St. Lucie County Fire District said that crews responded to a serious car accident on I-95 North, initially reported near the 131-mile marker.
While emergency crews were en route, officials said that updates revealed that the vehicle had gone over the side of an overpass, plummeting nearly 30 feet before landing on the southbound side of Kings Highway.
The report states that three people were injured in the crash and were transported as Trauma Alerts to Lawnwood Regional Medical Center for treatment.
No other vehicles were involved in the incident.
The Florida Highway Patrol and the St. Lucie County Sheriff’s Office are currently investigating the crash to determine the circumstances surrounding the accident.
