3 injured after being hit by car in downtown St. Pete, police say

 Three people are recovering from injuries after being hit by a vehicle as they were crossing a St. Pete roadway, officials said.

St. Pete police said this happened around 8 p.m. Saturday when three adults were crossing the area of Central Avenue and 6th Street South.

A trauma alert was issued for all three victims, who were taken to Orlando Health Bayfront Hospital for treatment.

Officers said the driver involved stayed at the scene.
