Three police officers were injured due to a house fire in Winter Garden on Saturday evening, according to fire officials.

Fire officials told News 6 that the fire was reported at a two-story home along East Story Road.

“Initial reports reported of occupant still in the structure,” a spokesperson for the fire department wrote. “(Winter Garden Police Department) officers made entry attempt attempting to find additional occupants.”

Eventually, first responders were able to rescue the person from the home, though three Winter Garden officers were taken to the hospital afterward, the spokesperson explained.

In all, four people were hospitalized after the fire, though no firefighters were hurt.

The police department said on Monday that the three officers were treated and released from the hospital.

No additional information has been provided at this time, including how the fire started.
