36-year-old Dallas man killed in Santa Rosa County crash involving two semi-trucks

A 36-year-old Dallas, Texas, man was killed in Wednesday morning’s overnight crash in Santa Rosa County involving two semi-trucks.

It happened around 2:10 a.m. on Highway 87 at Allentown Road.

According to Florida Highway Patrol, the Dallas man was traveling southbound on Highway 87, while a second semi driven by a 62-year-old Sumter, South Carolina, man was traveling northbound.

FHP says the Dallas man’s semi drifted into the northbound lane and struck the other semi.

The Dallas man was pronounced dead on scene, while the Sumter man was transported to a local hospital with minor injuries.

The road was closed for several hours as crews cleared the scene.
