39-year-old man killed, woman injured in drive-by shooting in Escambia County

A man was killed in a drive-by shooting Sunday night in Escambia County, according to the sheriff’s office.

It happened around 7:30 p.m. at Basin Street and Untreiner Avenue in Ensley.

Sheriff Chip Simmons says a suspect or suspects pulled up to a home in a dark-colored vehicle, got out and fired over a dozen shots into the home, and then fled the scene.

A 39-year-old man was found dead on scene with a gunshot wound to the head. A woman was also struck by gunfire and hospitalized with non life-threatening injuries.

Family identifies the fatal victim as Senious Dale.

Sheriff Simmons says investigators believe the killing was in retaliation to a shooting in the days prior.

There are no known suspects at this time.

An investigation is ongoing.
