Four people were injured in a crash Monday afternoon at an Escambia County intersection that has seen several crashes.
It happened around 3:05 p.m. at Highway 29 and County Road 196.
According to Florida Highway Patrol, a pickup truck driven by a 52-year-old Cantonment man was traveling west on County Road 196 and stopped at the stop sign located at the intersection.
Meanwhile, an SUV driven by a 67-year-old Illinois woman was traveling south on Highway 29 approaching the intersection.
FHP states the pickup truck attempted to cross Highway 29 and entered directly into the path of SUV, causing a head-on collision.
Both drivers as well as the SUV’s two passengers — a 66-year-old Illinois man and 38-year-old Illinois man — all suffered minor injuries.
WEAR News reported earlier this month that new streetlights were installed at the intersection to help increase safety.
