A family is safe following an early morning fire in a Fort Lauderdale neighborhood.
Fort Lauderdale Fire Rescue units responded to the scene of the blaze along the 1800 block of Southwest 23rd Avenue, at around 5:20 a.m. on Thursday.
Firefighters arrived to find a tiki hut on fire behind a rental property. The flames spread to a home next door.
Four adults and their three dogs were safely evacuated. No injuries were reported.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
