A 40-year-old man from Jacksonville was taken to the hospital with serious injuries after a crash on I-95 South in St. Johns County Saturday night.
The crash happened around 7:30 p.m., blocking two left lanes and causing major backups before State Road 206.
According to the preliminary report from the Florida Highway Patrol, a van was heading southbound approaching mile marker 307 in the left lane. The driver overcorrected to the left, entering the left paved shoulder.
The van’s front bumper then struck a metal guardrail dividing the north and southbound lanes, causing the vehicle to overturn and the 40-year-old driver to be ejected, according to FHP.
No other vehicles were involved, according to the report.
The Florida Highway Patrol is investigating.
