43-year-old bicyclist dead after being hit by two cars in Santa Rosa County crash

A 43-year-old bicyclist was killed in a crash in Santa Rosa County Thursday night.

It happened around 11:40 p.m. on State Road 87 near Hopewell Road in Milton.

According to Florida Highway Patrol, the Jay man was riding his bike northbound in the travel lane, while a sedan driven by a 35-year-old Brewton, Alabama woman was traveling north. Meanwhile, a second sedan driven by a 39-year-old Chickamauga, Georgia woman was traveling southbound.

FHP says the first sedan struck the man, throwing him from the bicycle into the southbound lane. The second sedan then collided with the man in the southbound lane.

The man was pronounced dead on scene.

Florida Highway Patrol is still investigating the crash.
