44-year-old man killed after going through fence, crashing into tree in Clay County: FHP

CLAY COUNTY, Fla. – A 44-year-old man from Starke died in a crash in Clay County early Saturday, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

FHP said around 1:45 a.m., the man was driving a pickup truck westbound on Carter Spencer Road, and when he tried to negotiate a curve, he left the roadway to the right for unknown reasons.

Troopers said the pickup truck then went through a fence and crashed into a tree, where he came to a final stop.

The man was transported to a local hospital where he died.

FHP is investigating this crash.
