48-year-old Pensacola man dies after car crashes near ER in HCA Florida West Hospital lot

A 48-year-old Pensacola man died Sunday afternoon after his car crashed in the parking lot of HCA Florida West Hospital, according to FHP.

Troopers say the crash happened at 4:06 p.m. at HCA Florida West Hospital on 8383 N. Davis Highway.

A silver sedan was traveling westbound in the hospital parking lot near the emergency room when the driver failed to negotiate a turn and struck a curb, a sign, and a junction box, according to FHP.

Troopers say the driver was pronounced dead at the nearby hospital.

A similar incident happened last week when a 61-year-old man died in a crash in the HCA Florida Fort Walton-Destin Hospital parking lot.
