Martin County Fire Rescue was at the scene of a crash Friday afternoon.
According to a spokesperson from fire rescue, Martin County Fire Rescue responded to a crash at 2:15 p.m. on Interstate 95 southbound near Mile Marker 91. The crash caused significant traffic backups throughout the afternoon.
First responders confirmed that five people required medical attention following the wreck.
All five people were transported to area hospitals for treatment. Four people were taken to St. Mary’s Medical Center in West Palm Beach with serious injuries, while one person was airlifted to Jupiter Medical Center.
As of Saturday afternoon, an update on their conditions was not available.
