A 5-year-old boy died and another 13 people were critically injured early Saturday morning in a crash on U.S. 27 in Marion County, the Florida Highway Patrol said.
Troopers said a motorhome carrying 15 people from Springfield, Ohio, was headed south on U.S. 27 when it collided with an SUV that was headed west on County Road 316.
FHP said the motorhome flipped in the crash, critically injuring 12 of the passengers. The 5-year-old boy died at the scene.
The crash report did not list the ages of the critically injured passengers. The 59-year-old woman driving the motorhome and a 35-year-old man riding in the motorhome suffered minor injuries.
The 25-year-old woman driving the SUV was also critically injured.
