– A 5-year-old child died after falling from a pickup truck on private property in Columbia County.
According to a Florida Highway Patrol report, a 39-year-old Lake City man was driving the vehicle on NW Brook Loop when the child fell from the outside of the truck.
She was taken to a local hospital, where she died.
A 9-year-old boy, who was also in the vehicle, was not injured.
The Florida Highway Patrol is investigating the circumstances of the crash.
