Deputies in Volusia County are trying to find the riders of an e-bike they say were involved in a hit-and-run crash that injured a 5-year-old on the beach.
It happened Saturday afternoon just north of Sun Splash Park in Daytona Beach, VSO said.
The child was heading toward the water “to fill up his beach bucket” when a southbound e-bike hit him.
“Witnesses described two teenagers on the e-bike, male and female. They stopped briefly and apologized before leaving the scene.”
The 5-year-old was evaluated at the hospital and had minor injuries.
Anyone with information is asked to contact Dep. Bissonnette at JBissonnette@volusiasheriff.gov or call 386-239-6414.
