5-year-old struck by car in St. Petersburg

 A young boy was struck by a vehicle in St. Petersburg on Sunday, the St. Petersburg Police Department said.

The incident happened around around 3:22 p.m. at the intersection of 18th Ave. S and Prescott Ave. S.

The child was seriously injured and taken to Johns Hopkins All Children’s Hospital, police said.

18th Ave. South will be closed from 16th Street to 17th Street South for “several hours” as police investigate.
