51-year-old Groveland woman dies after airlifted from crash

A 51-year-old Groveland woman died at an area hospital after being airlifted from the scene of a crash in Lake County.

The woman was driving a 2017 Audi A7 southbound at 4:56 p.m. Tuesday on U.S. Hwy. 27 at Greater Groves Boulevard in Clermont when she failed to slow down for traffic ahead and struck a 2015 Lexus RX driven by a 73-year-old woman from Canada traveling with a 69-year-old male Canadian passenger, according to an accident report from the Florida Highway Patrol.

Her Audi went on to strike a 2019 Subaru Outback driven by a 24-year-old male from Clermont who had a 23-year-old female passenger from Winter Garden. The multi-vehicle crash also involved a 2023 Honda Civic and a 2020 Toyota Camry.

The woman driving the Audi was airlifted to Osceola Regional Hospital where she was pronounced dead.

The occupants of the Subaru Outback and a 25-year-old man driving the Toyota Camry suffered minor injuries and were transported by ambulance to the AdventHealth Emergency Room at Four Corners.
