54-year-old woman dies after being hit by pick-up truck on US 441 in Columbia County: Florida Highway Patrol

A 54-year-old woman was killed Wednesday night when she was hit by a pickup truck on US Highway 441 in Columbia County, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

Troopers said the Ford F350, driven by a 37-year-old man from Lake City, was headed north on US 441 near NW Quinten Street around 8:30 p.m. when it struck the woman who was in the north lane.

The driver of the pickup made a U-turn after the impact and remained at the scene. He was wearing a seat belt and was not hurt.

The woman died at the scene.

FHP is currently still investigating.
