55-year-old male dead after six-vehicle crash on Six Mile Cypress Pkwy at Daniels Pkwy, FHP says

A 55-year-old man is dead after a multi-vehicle crash shut down all southbound lanes of Six Mile Cypress Parkway at Daniels Parkway Saturday evening, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

FHP says a 66-year-old driver possibly suffered a medical emergency, causing the man to crash into the victim. The victim was taken to the hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.

The Lee County Sheriff’s Office said that at least six vehicles were involved in the crash, with injuries present. Five people were transported to the hospital, according to LCSO.

The South Trail Fire Protection and Rescue Service District, which responded to the crash along with deputies, said that the following injuries were sustained:

  • One patient in cardiac arrest
  • Two adult trauma alerts
  • One pediatric trauma alert
  • One priority two patient

South Trail Fire says that a child was trapped in one of the vehicles.

The northbound inside lane of Six Mile Cypress Pkwy is also blocked.
