ix people are dead after a car crashed and erupted into flames on State Road 60 in Osceola County.
The Florida Highway Patrol said the crash happened at around 3:45 p.m. on Saturday.
A Hyundai Tucson was traveling west on SR 60, approaching a semitruck that was traveling in the opposite direction.
FHP said the driver of the Hyundai moved into the eastbound lane to try and pass multiple vehicles. When the Hyundai attempted to reenter the westbound lanes, the driver lost control of the vehicle.
The driver’s side of the Hyundai collided with the front of the semitruck, and both vehicles became engulfed in flames.
The driver of the Hyundai, along with all five passengers, became trapped in the car and were pronounced deceased at the scene. FHP said the victims have not yet been identified, but it is possible that there were three adults and three children inside the car.
The driver of the semitruck, a 36-year-old Miami Gardens man, sustained minor injuries and was transported to a local hospital.
FHP said more information will be released after the medical examiner positively identifies the deceased.
