A 61-year-old e-bike rider was killed in a crash with a car in Boynton Beach after failing to yield, according to police.
Officers with the Boynton Beach Police Department (BBPD) say they responded to a car vs. e-bike crash at 4 p.m. on Saturday at the intersection of North Congress Ave. and Old Boynton Road.
The e-bike rider, 61-year-old Dale Whisman, died the following day at Delray Medical Center, according to BBPD.
The investigation revealed that Whisman’s e-bike was traveling eastbound on Congress Avenue on the south side of the intersection while a car was traveling northbound on Congress Avenue.
Police say Whisman failed to yield to the car traveling northbound with a green light, causing the collision.
