A 63-year-old woman from Jacksonville died Wednesday afternoon after veering off the road and crashing into a wooden fence and building, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
FHP said the woman was driving in the Ortega Farms neighborhood on State Road 134, just west of Ortega Farms Boulevard, when witnesses observed her SUV travel from an inside eastbound lane to the opposite side of the roadway.
The woman’s front tire then crashed into a curb and continued off the roadway before crashing into a wooden fence and a building.
FHP added that it is unknown whether the woman was wearing her seatbelt.
