63-year-old man dead after scooter struck by motorcyclist in Escambia County

A 63-year-old Pensacola man is dead after his scooter was struck by a motorcyclist in Escambia County Wednesday night.

The crash happened near the intersection of Beverly Parkway and Concordia Boulevard at around 8:10 p.m.

A 29-year-old motorcyclist, from Pensacola, was traveling eastbound on Beverly Parkway in the inside lane near Concordia Boulevard.

Florida Highway Patrol says the 63-year-old Pensacola man was using his scooter on the north side of Beverly Parkway.

According to Florida Highway Patrol, the motorcyclist struck the man, where he was pronounced dead at the scene.

The motorcyclist was transported to Baptist Hospital in critical condition.

Florida Highway Patrol says charges are pending in this case.
