64-year-old man killed after darting in front of car in West Palm Beach

A 64-year-old man was killed after he crossed into the path of a car on Okeechobee Blvd on Friday night, the West Palm Beach Police Department (WPBPD) says.

At around 9:40 p.m. Friday, police received a 911 call about a man who had run across the street and gotten hit by a 2023 Toyota Camry.

The 55-year-old driver of the Toyota Camry remained on scene.

WPBPD homicide investigators found the Toyota was traveling eastbound on Okeechobee Boulevard approaching Golden Lakes Boulevard when the 64-year-old man darted into the road and in the car’s path.

The man was pronounced dead at the scene, Police say.

Police say they do not believe alcohol or drugs played a part in the crash and are treating the crash as a non-criminal traffic fatality.

The man’s identity is being withheld due to the family not being notified.
