A 68-year-old man died Monday evening when the pick-up truck he was driving hit several trees off I-95 south in St. Johns County, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
Troopers said that just before 8 p.m., the man was headed south on I-95, south of U.S. 1, in the outside lane when, for unknown reasons, he veered off the road into the west grass shoulder.
FHP said the pick-up truck continued into the treeline along the highway and hit multiple trees.
The man, who was wearing a seat belt, died from his injuries, FHP said.
