71-year-old motorcyclist killed after striking guardrail in Brevard County, troopers say

A 71-year-old man was killed after his motorcycle struck a guardrail in Brevard County on Saturday afternoon, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

Troopers said the single-vehicle crash happened at U.S. 1 and Barefoot Boulevard around noon.

According to a crash report, a Harley Davidson motorcycle was traveling north on U.S. 1 north of Barefoot Boulevard in the outside lane when for unknown reasons, the vehicle veered off the road and struck a guardrail.

Troopers said the driver, a 71-year-old Sebastian man, was pronounced dead at the scene.

The crash remains under investigation.
