71-year-old woman dead in south Fort Myers crash

A 71-year-old woman was killed in a two-vehicle crash in south Fort Myers Thursday afternoon.

According to the Florida Highway Patrol, a sedan was headed south on Metro Parkway on the left turn lane.

At around 3:48 p.m., the sedan turned in front of an approaching truck. The truck crashed into the side of the sedan.

The passenger in the sedan was seriously injured in the collision and taken to the hospital. She was later pronounced dead, FHP said.

The crash remains under investigation by FHP at this time.
