71-year-old woman dies after vehicle collides with fence off Michael G. Rippe Parkway

Florida Highway Patrol troopers are investigating a deadly crash that happened on State Road 739 (Michael G. Rippe Parkway) just north of Alico Road on Thursday afternoon.

According to FHP, a vehicle traveled off the roadway of SR-739, down an embankment, and collided with a chain-link fence and rocks.

Troopers said the driver, a 71-year-old North Fort Myers woman, was transported to an area hospital with serious injuries and later pronounced dead.

There are no roadblocks in the area of the crash, and the investigation remains ongoing, according to FHP.
