A 78-year-old woman from Sarasota was killed on Wednesday afternoon in a head-on crash on State Road 21 in Bradford County, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
Troopers said that around 3:30 p.m., the woman was driving her Audi convertible north on SR 21 near Southeast 2nd Avenue when she crossed the center line into the oncoming lane.
Her Audi hit a southbound Hyundai SUV head-on, and she died at the scene from her injuries, according to FHP.
A 41-year-old woman from Wesley Chapel who was driving the SUV suffered minor injuries, troopers said.
Both drivers were wearing seat belts.
