A man died on Wednesday after he was struck by a vehicle while exiting a parking lot.
According to Florida Highway Patrol, a 71-year-old man driving a Hyundai Accent was traveling west in a private parking lot at 275 US-19.
At the same time, a 39-year-old woman driving a GMC Yukon was headed north on US-19.
The Yukon had one passenger, according to FHP, an 11-year-old girl.
The Hyundai was exiting the parking lot when FHP said it turned into the path and was struck by the oncoming Yukon.
The driver of the Yukon suffered minor injuries, but the passenger was unharmed.
The driver of the Hyundai died at the scene, and a passenger in the vehicle, a 69-year-old woman, sustained serious injuries.
