An 86-year-old woman from Suwannee is dead after a crash in Suwannee County Sunday night.
According to Florida Highway Patrol troopers, the 86-year-old was driving north on County Road 137 and stopped at a stop sign just after 7 p.m.
A 35-year-old woman from Suwannee was driving northeast on State Road 24, approaching the intersection of County Road 137.
The 86-year-old woman made a left turn onto State Road 247 and turned into the lane of the 35-year-old woman and hit her car.
The 35-year-old driver was taken to HCA Florida Lake City Hospital with minor injuries, and the 6 passengers in that vehicle were also taken there for injury evaluation.
The 86-year-old driver was taken to Shands Hospital in Gainesville where she later died. The passenger in the that vehicle was also taken to Shands for medical evaluation.
FHP is investigating the crash.
