A 22-year-old Summerfield man was killed Wednesday when an SUV pulled into the direct path of his motorcycle, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
The fatal wreck happened around 5:10 p.m. on County Road 475 at County Road 484 in Marion County.
The FHP said the SUV, driven by a 19-year-old Ocala man, was stopped in southbound traffic on C.R. 475, just north of C.R. 484, and attempted to make a left turn into a private drive.
The motorcyclist, who was traveling north on C.R. 475, crashed into the right rear side of the SUV as it entered his direct path, according to an FHP crash report.
The motorcyclist was pronounced dead at the scene, the FHP said.
The SUV driver and his 13-year-old passenger were not hurt, according to the crash report.
