Employee shot during masked armed robbery in south Fort Myers, suspect arrested

A Fort Myers man has been arrested by the Lee County Sheriff’s Office after being accused of robbing a business and shooting an employee.

LR Jr., 46, is accused of entering the Royal Arcade on US-41 with a mask on, pointing a firearm at an employee and demanding money. During the robbery, an employee was shot in the hand.

When deputies arrived, they said located R running through the Pine Manor neighborhood, where a foot pursuit ended with him being shocked with a Taser and taken into custody.

The shooting victim had non-life-threatening injuries. The firearm deputies say was used in the robbery was located hidden in a neighboring business.

R faces charges of robbery with a firearm, aggravated battery with a deadly weapon, shooting within an occupied private building, possession of a weapon by a convicted felon, false ID to law enforcement and resisting an officer without violence.
