Motorcycle chase in Panama City Beach turned deadly, Florida Highway Patrol investigating

The Florida Highway Patrol initiated a traffic stop that turned into a deadly motorcycle chase on Saturday night.

According to a news release, the incident happened at 11:30 p.m. on Front Beach Road near Churchwell Drive.

Troopers said they initiated a traffic stop on a red Suzuki sport motorcycle just west of Holly Drive. The rider, a 27-year-old man from Panama City Beach, failed to comply and attempted to flee, prompting a pursuit.

As the motorcycle traveled westbound on Front Beach Road, troopers said the rider lost control, resulting in a crash that ejected him from the motorcycle.

Troopers said they immediately rendered lifesaving aid at the scene until emergency medical personnel from Bay County EMS and Panama City Beach rescue arrived.

Despite efforts to provide emergency care, officials confirmed the man was pronounced deceased at the scene, troopers confirmed.

The incident remains under investigation by the Florida Highway Patrol.
