Man killed, woman wounded in double shooting outside bar on Kings Avenue in San Marco: JSO

A man was killed and a woman was wounded early Monday morning in a double shooting outside a Kings Avenue bar, the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office said.

The shooting was reported around 2:30 a.m. Monday after closing time outside the Locals’ Bar, which is a few blocks south of Prudential Drive in the San Marco area.

Police said a man and a woman in their 30s were shot in the parking lot behind the bar during an argument with someone. The man died at the scene, and the woman was taken to a hospital but is expected to be OK.

JSO said multiple people were detained, including the suspected shooter, but no arrests have been made.

Officers are checking for surveillance video from nearby businesses, but investigators believe it was an isolated incident and the public is not in danger.
