Father attempts to kill his 2-month-old son in West Palm Beach

Father attempts to kill his 2-month-old son in West Palm Beach

A West Palm Beach man, EG, has been charged with attempted murder after he was found trying to suffocate his 2-month-old son on multiple occasions.

On Monday, the West Palm Beach Police Department (WPBPD) responded to a distress call at a residence on Erie Place. The infant’s mother informed officers that G had attempted to suffocate the baby twice, and she provided cell phone video footage of the second incident.

The affidavit reveals that, in the video captured on her iPhone, G sat at the foot of the bed while the baby was sleeping. The recording shows him covering the infant’s nose with his hands seven times, causing the child to foam at the mouth and raise his hands in distress. G only stopped the act after realizing he was being recorded. The mother discovered this video when she retrieved it from her “recently deleted” folder, as G had tried to erase the evidence. He allegedly recorded a new video to obscure his actions.

This was not the first incident. The previous day, G reportedly held the baby’s nose while feeding him a bottle, claiming later that he was “adjusting” the bottle. The mother tells officers that this has happened at least seven times.

G is now facing charges of attempted premeditated murder in the first degree.
