A 16-year-old motorcyclist allegedly struck a deputy as he attempted to evade arrest after a traffic stop in Florida.
The Hernando County Sheriff’s Office (HCSO) said that on Monday, deputies attempted to conduct a traffic stop on two teenagers riding motorcycles without license plates.
According to officials, the teens fled from the traffic stop, prompting a response from the HCSO aviation unit to track them until the pair came to a stop at the dead end of Jefferson Road in the Jefferson Equestrian Area.
The report states that, as deputies approached the bikes, both riders attempted to flee once again, which is when one of the suspects, identified as 16-year-old IC, struck a deputy with his motorcycle.
HCSO noted that the deputy who was stuck had minor injuries and did not require medical attention.
Cnow faces several serious charges, including:
- Aggravated Battery on a Law Enforcement Officer with a Deadly Weapon
- Felony Fleeing to Elude
- Fleeing to Elude at High Speed
His accomplice, 17-year-old TL, is facing two counts of Fleeing to Elude at High Speed.
