A 51-year-old Pensacola man suffered from minor injuries after a collision involving two ambulances and his SUV occurred on Saturday in Escambia County.
The incident took place around 2:30 p.m. near the intersection of Blue Angel Parkway and Longleaf Drive.
According to FHP, two Escambia County EMS ambulances were traveling west on S.R. 173 (N Blue Angel Parkway) when they approached stopped traffic near Longleaf Creek Drive.
Troopers say the first ambulance stopped due to the traffic. The Pensacola man driving a Nissan SUV, directly behind the first ambulance, also came to a stop.
However, the driver of the second ambulance, a 28-year-old Milton man, failed to notice the stopped traffic ahead and collided with the rear of the SUV.
The impact forced the SUV into the rear of the first ambulance, disabling both the second ambulance and the SUV, according to FHP.
The Pensacola man was transported to a local hospital for evaluation. No other injuries were reported.
