14-year-old boy arrested in connection with deadly Riviera Beach shooting

A 14-year-old boy was arrested on Sunday in connection with a deadly shooting in Riviera Beach.

The Riviera Beach Police Department (RBPD) said on May 19, at around 10 p.m., officers responded to a ShotSpotter alert at two separate locations in the city.

Officers responded to the scene and found a red vehicle that had crashed into the yard of a residence on West 30th Street, according to the news release. Nearby, officers discovered a man — later identified as 32-year-old N G — lying on the sidewalk, dead from a gunshot wound.

Following a detailed investigation, RBPD said a 14-year-old boy was identified as the suspected shooter.

Police said on May 25, the teenager was taken into taken into custody for one count of first-degree murder and delinquent in possession of a firearm. Due to the suspect’s age, no further identifying information is being released at this time, according to RBPD.
